Guwahati: Assam down town University (AdtU) came alive with colours, lights, and cultural vibrancy during its Pre-Diwali celebration, which blended festive joy with community engagement and rural participation.
The event featured the popular Campus Bazaar Stalls, where students displayed handmade crafts, festive décor, and traditional delicacies, showcasing their creativity and entrepreneurial spirit.
Adding to the festive charm were stalls set up by artisans from the university’s adopted villages, bringing the flavours and artistry of rural Assam to the campus.
A special highlight was the participation of villagers from Puranbari, where the university is implementing a DST-funded project.
Their stall offered fresh, locally produced goods, and students and visitors were encouraged to support them—an initiative aimed at promoting sustainable livelihoods and empowering rural communities.

The celebration also included a Rangoli competition, with students adorning the campus with intricate designs and vibrant colours that reflected themes of unity and light.
