Assam’s Directorate of Elementary Education (DEE) has opened the application process for the recruitment of 4,500 school teachers in lower primary and upper primary schools across the state.
The application has been started at the official website –dee.assam.gov.in– and will end on March 31.
Among the total vacancies, there are 2,900 positions available for Assistant Teachers in lower primary schools and 1,600 positions for Assistant Teachers, Science Teachers, and Hindi Teachers in upper primary schools.
The Directorate of Elementary Education (DEE) Assam will release separate merit lists for each district and category.
Assam DEE Teachers Recruitment 2025: Eligibility
To qualify for the recruitment, candidates must have passed either the Assam Teacher Eligibility Test (ATET) or the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET), depending on whether they are applying for Lower Primary or Upper Primary teaching positions.
Additionally, one of the selected languages (Language 1 or Language 2) in the CTET or ATET must align with the medium of instruction at the school they wish to join.
Assam DEE Teacher Recruitment 2025: Age Limit
Applicants must be at least 18 years old and not older than 40 years as of January 1. There will be relaxations in the upper age limit for candidates from reserved categories.
Individuals with more than two living children, born after January 1, 2021 (regardless of whether the children are from one partner or multiple partners), are not eligible to participate in the recruitment process.

The selection of candidates will be based on merit, taking into account their academic performance in Higher Secondary (or equivalent) examinations, their graduation, Diploma in Education, and the Teachers’ Eligibility Test (TET).
