Barpeta: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has sent gifts to 57 government-accredited media personnel in Barpeta.
The gifts were distributed on Wednesday by Barpeta District Commissioner Rohan Kumar Jha during a ceremony attended by journalists and the District Information and Public Relations Officer (DIPRO).
During the event, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized the critical role of media in governance and public outreach.

“The media bridges the gap between the administration and the people. The Chief Minister values their efforts in providing accurate and timely information, and this gesture serves as a recognition of their work,” he said.
The journalists expressed their gratitude for the initiative, acknowledging the Chief Minister’s support.
The Assam government has been actively engaging with the media through regular interactions and initiatives to foster collaboration.
The ceremony concluded with a call for continued partnership between the media and administration to ensure effective communication and transparency in governance.
