GUWAHATI: Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma had crucial meetings in the national capital on Monday as he called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.
During the meeting, Sarma extended an invitation to Prime Minister Modi to visit Assam and inaugurate key state government projects.
These projects include the foundation stone laying of the Kamakhya Corridor, dedication of the grand statue of Bir Lachit in Jorhat, inauguration of the Tinsukia Medical College, and the foundation stone laying of the Sivasagar Medical College.
Taking to a social media platform, the Chief Minister expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Modi for his continuous guidance and leadership.
In a post, he wrote, “I had the privilege to call upon Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji today. Shared Assam’s immense gratitude for his continuous guidance & leadership and briefed him on the ongoing pro-people programs during our interaction.”
Furthermore, the Assam CM seized the opportunity to seek the Prime Minister’s counsel on organising the Assam Business Summit in 2024.
The summit aims to establish itself as a platform to attract private investments and accelerate the state’s economic growth.
Post the meeting with Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Sarma expressed his gratitude for her unwavering support for Assam’s growth story.
He said, “It’s always a privilege and honour to meet with Hon’ble Union Finance Minister. Her unwavering support for Assam’s growth story is commendable. I expressed our heartfelt gratitude for her continuous support.”
