Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma inaugurated a state-of-the-art beverage manufacturing unit in Changsari on Saturday.

With the inauguration of the new bottling plant in the state, Reliance Consumer Products Ltd (RCPL), an FMCG and beverage company, has strengthened the presence of Campa’s portfolio in Northeast India.

Developed in collaboration with local partner Jericho, the plant has been set up with an investment of Rs 250 crore.

The newly launched Campa Cola plant is poised to generate substantial employment in the region.

The plant is expected to provide direct employment to 300 youth while creating indirect job opportunities for around 1,000 individuals.

Taking to X, the chief minister posted, “Welcome to Assam, Campa! I am confident the synergy between Reliance Consumer and Jericho will drive this bottling plant forward which will meet the region’s rising demand. Best wishes to the plant. Govt of Assam will support its expansion plans in the future.”

Spanning over 6 lakh sq. ft., the plant is among the largest beverage manufacturing units in the region.

It boasts an initial production capacity of over 10 crore litres for carbonated soft drinks (CSD) and nearly 18 crore litres for packaged drinking water, ensuring ample supply for growing consumer demand.

According to reports, the Changsari facility will produce RCPL’s popular beverage brands, including Campa Cola, Campa Orange and Campa Lemon under the Independence and Sure Water labels.

“The opening of our Guwahati plant, in partnership with Jericho, marks a pivotal moment. This facility will generate new jobs, driving local economic progress, and represents a crucial step in our mission to revive India’s heritage brands while promoting sustainable regional growth,” Ketan Mody, COO of RCPL, stated.

Ashis Agarwal, Founder of Jericho Foods and Beverages LLP, stated, “This expansion reaffirms our commitment to excellence and innovation in the region’s food and beverage industry.”
