“Strengthening the Criminal Justice system in BTR.. Dedicated two newly built district jails in Chirang and Baksa today, which can collectively house 1,000 inmates. Pramod Boro, Chief Executive Member of the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC), joined the chief minister at the inauguration of the newly built district jail in Chirang.

He said the inauguration of the district jail is a major step forward in enhancing BTR’s justice and correctional infrastructure.

Boro said, “This modern facility will significantly strengthen BTR’s law enforcement capacity, in line with our commitment towards a reform-oriented correctional system.”

The state-of-the-art prison complex features dedicated quarantine zones, underscoring a strong commitment to maintaining stringent health and hygiene protocols.

The complex houses separate modern medical units for male and female inmates, classroom spaces to support educational and skill development, and a well-equipped library, aimed at promoting reformation, self-improvement, and reintegration into society.
