Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma officially distributed appointment letters to 564 successful candidates of the 2023 Combined Competitive Examination.
The event, which took place on Sunday, marks a key milestone in the recruitment process for various prestigious positions in the state.
The examination, conducted by the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC), was organised to fill positions in the Assam Civil Service (ACS), Assam Police Service (APS), and other allied services.
These appointments are seen as an essential step toward enhancing the state’s governance and public service framework.
Among the distinguished recipients was Jayanta Talukdar, an Arjuna awardee and Olympian archer, who was appointed as a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP).
His appointment highlights the Assam government’s commitment to recruiting individuals with exceptional accomplishments to lead and inspire others in public service.
During the event, the chief minister emphasised the importance of a transparent and efficient recruitment process as the foundation for good governance.
