GUWAHATI: The highly-anticipated CBSE Cluster-I Level Boys Basketball Tournament 2024 commenced with a dazzling opening ceremony at Guwahati’s Army Public School, Narangi on Friday.
This three-day sporting event aims to foster sportsmanship, camaraderie, and healthy competition among schools in the region.
Dr. Bandana Baruah, Principal of Army Public School, presided over the inaugural ceremony.
The event was graced by the presence of Sandeep Tandon, Regional Officer of CBSE Guwahati, Assam, as the chief guest.
The ceremony commenced with a flag hoisting, followed by the lighting of the lamp and a soulful rendition of Ganesh Vandana.
In her address, Dr. Bandana Baruah emphasized the importance of “winning with humility and losing with grace,” setting the tone for the tournament.
Sandeep Tandon, the Chief Guest, was felicitated by the Principal before delivering an inspiring speech. He underscored the significance of sportsmanship, teamwork, and striving for excellence in both academics and sports.
Dikshita Adhikari, the head girl of APS Narangi, led the oath-taking ceremony, where participants pledged to adhere to the principles of fair play.

A vibrant march past display by students from participating schools showcased their enthusiasm for the tournament.
