GUWAHATI: Assam is gearing up for heavy rainfall and thunderstorms in the upcoming days, as forecasted by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) in a special bulletin, on Wednesday.
The IMD has issued a warning specifically highlighting the likelihood of heavy rainfall coupled with thunderstorms across Assam over the next three to four days.
In light of these predictions, a yellow alert has been issued for 10 districts in Assam. The districts under the yellow alert include Morigaon, Nagaon, West Karbi Anglong, Hojai, Dhemaji, Charaideo, Tinsukia, Dima Hasao, Dibrugarh, and Karbi Anglong.
These anticipated weather conditions are expected to bring widespread rain, thunderstorms, lightning, and isolated heavy rainfall across the state.
A Yellow Alert signifies “watch and be updated,” indicating the need for residents to stay informed about official weather updates and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety.
As Assam prepares to face potentially adverse weather conditions, residents are advised to stay vigilant, monitor weather updates closely, and take appropriate measures to protect themselves and their property.
