Guwahati: The Bodoland People’s Front (BPF), led by Hagrama Mohilary, has returned to power in the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) elections after sweeping the polls with 28 seats.
The United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) secured 7 seats, while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won 5.
The BTC elections, held on September 22, saw the BPF challenging the ruling coalition of the United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and the regional Gana Suraksha Party.
The BTC governs the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR), which includes the districts of Baksa, Chirang, Kokrajhar, Tamulpur, and Udalguri.

This landslide victory marks the political resurgence of former BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary.
