GUWAHATI: A bomb scare at Guwahati‘s City Centre mall on Monday prompted the administration to evacuate the premises as a precautionary measure.
Patrons and staff were immediately directed to leave the premises of the City Centre mall.
According to reports, a potential explosive device may have been planted at the PVR Cinema Hall within the mall, sparking panic among visitors.
However, some reports suggest that the incident might be related to a technical snag that could lead to a fire, rather than an actual bomb threat.
A sign posted at the mall entrance reads: “FOR TECHNICAL ISSUE MALL WILL BE SHUT DOWN FOR 2 HOURS.”
However, there is growing suspicion among the visitors and public that the closure might be due to a bomb threat.

All commercial establishments within the 8-storey building, including the PVR cinema and food courts, are reportedly closed.
The mall administration, however, has not yet issued an official statement regarding the incident.
