Guwahati: The Assam unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will roll out a statewide outreach campaign on February 28 as part of its preparations for the upcoming Assembly elections, state party president Dilip Saikia announced on Sunday.
Speaking at a press conference, Saikia said the initiative, titled ‘Jan Ashirwad Yatra’, aims to connect with voters and present the BJP’s vision, achievements and future roadmap before the electorate.
He informed that the first phase of the yatra will run from February 28 to March 9 and will cover 34 Assembly constituencies across the state.
According to Saikia, state minister Ashok Singhal has been appointed chief convenor of the campaign, while Union minister Pabitra Margherita will serve among the co-convenors overseeing key organisational responsibilities.
The yatra will be flagged off by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma from Gupteshwar Devalaya in the Dhekiajuli constituency. The Chief Minister is also expected to participate in public meetings at various stops during the campaign.
On its opening day, the march will pass through the constituencies of Dhekiajuli, Barsola, Tezpur, Naduar and Rongapara.
In the following days, the campaign is scheduled to extend to several other constituencies, including Morigaon, Nagaon, Gohpur, Bihpuria, Dhemaji, Jonai, Tingkhong, Naharkatia, Golaghat, Digboi, Tinsukia, Nalbari and Rangia, among others.

Saikia added that ‘Jan Ashirwad Sabhas’ will be organised in constituencies not directly covered by the yatra. The campaign is expected to travel approximately 70–80 kilometres each day, with a target outreach of nearly one lakh people daily.
The BJP will also hold a major rally in Guwahati on March 15, which is expected to draw nearly one lakh young voters.
