Pathsala: The Department of Mass Communication and Journalism of Bhattadev University recently hosted a 2-day annual media fest “Abhibyanjana”.
The university is located at Patshala in Assam’s Bajali district.
The two-day festival, held on October 3-4, offered a variety of activities and opportunities to interact with distinguished experts from the fields of media and communication.
On the first day of the event, an inter-departmental panel discussion was held on the topic “Media and Democracy: Importance of Free and Independent Press”.
It was followed by an all-Assam media quiz competition conducted by Dilip Kumar Sharma, Sub-Editor of Asomiya Pratidin newspaper.
As a part of the festival, a photo exhibition was held for the students and teachers of Bhattadev University.
On the second day of the festival, students had an interactive session with Senior Information and Public Relations Officer Dibyajyoti Sarmah, who emphasized the scope of public relations in the present time.
Renowned actor Pabitra Rabha, eminent Assamese poet Nilim Kumar, and popular singer Rupam Bhuyan graced the occasion.
During the event, Prof. Dhanapati Deka, Vice Chancellor of Bhattadev University, encouraged students to embrace creativity.
He said the event provided a platform for students to interact with renowned experts.
