Barpeta: A comprehensive training programme for Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and BLO Supervisors was successfully conducted across various Legislative Assembly Constituencies (LACs) in Barpeta district, under the directives of the Election Commission of India.

A total of 1,094 BLOs and 103 Supervisors participated in the sessions, which focused on strengthening their understanding of electoral roll management and ensuring adherence to updated procedures ahead of the forthcoming electoral exercises.

ADC (Election) Moushumi Chetia, ACS, highlighted the significance of the programme, calling it a critical initiative towards achieving accurate and inclusive voter lists.

“This training is essential to ensure that our electoral rolls are error-free and reflect all eligible voters,” she said.

The two-day training began on July 15, covering 22-Mandia and 23-Chenga LACs. Sessions were conducted by the respective Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) cum Additional Deputy Commissioners (ADCs), Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs) cum Circle Officers, and Block Development Officers (BDOs) of Mandia and Chenga.

The training team also included the Election Officer, State Level Master Trainer (SLMT), and Assistant Level Master Trainers (ALMTs).

On July 16, similar training sessions were held for 24-Barpeta (SC) and 25-Pakabetbari LACs.
