Barpeta: The District Election Office, Barpeta, on Monday published the final electoral roll for 2025, registering a total of 9, 56,108 voters, an increase of 25,860 from the draft roll.
This includes 4, 92,044 males, 4, 64,045 females, and 19 third-gender voters.
Mandia constituency saw 7,217 new voters; Chenga 7,198; Pakabetbari 8,317; and Barpeta 3,128.
The surge was driven by a robust campaign during the 2024 Special Summary Revision, which processed 55,578 applications.
Of these, 84.29% were accepted, while 15.07% were rejected due to issues like invisible photographs and insufficient documentation.
Youth participation played a critical role, with 14,304 new voters added in the 18-19 age group, followed by 12,045 in the 20-29 age group.
Platforms such as the Voter Helpline App and NVSP contributed to increased accessibility, enabling online submissions of 14,145 applications.
Notably, Barpeta’s voter base has expanded by 39,040 since the last Assembly Election in 2021.
