Guwahati: The Assam Public Service Commission on Thursday officially declared the results of the Combined Competitive Examination (CCE), 2023, recommending 235 candidates for appointment in ACS/APS and Allied Services.
Chiranjeev Phukan has secured the top rank in the ACS junior grade category, while Partha Pratim Sarmah has topped the APS junior grade category. Phukan, who topped the examination with 872 marks, is a First Class B Tech from NIT, Silchar.
More than 67,251 candidates applied for the examination this year. A significant achievement this year is the strong performance of women candidates. Seven out of the top ten rank holders in the ACS category and four out of the top ten in the APS category are women.
The entire process beginning from the Preliminary examination in March 2024 has been completed in a record time of almost 8 months.
Anisha Buragohain, a Post Graduate from the London School of Economics and Political Science, topped the list among women candidates securing 823 marks.
Himandri Jita Bora, a JRF scholar and Post Graduate from JNU, Delhi secured the third position, while Mrigakhi Baruah, a Graduate and Post Graduate from Delhi University secured the fourth position.
Tutumani Kakati of Muguria, Bajali, secured the fifth position.
Among the other toppers within the first ten positions are Mridusmita Ray of Goalpara, Mary Kalita of Bongaigaon, Diksha Sarkar from Sribhumi, Nilam Garg from Lakhimpur and Ankita Chettri from West Karbi Anglong district.
Notably, for the first time, posts have been reserved for Moran and Motak communities.
The final results were determined based on the candidates’ performance in the main written examination and the interview/personality test round, which was held from November 13 to 29, 2024.

Out of 235 candidates, 45 candidates have been recommended for ACS, 35 for APS, and several other positions in various government departments.
