Guwahati: Guwahati will witness a patriotic evening on August 15 as the Indian Air Force’s No. 7 Air Force Band performs at the War Memorial, Digholi Pukhuri, to mark the 79th Independence Day.
The event aims to celebrate national pride and recent achievements, including the successful completion of Operation Sindoor.
The band, comprising 25 musicians from Air Force Station Borjhar, will present a 75-minute performance featuring 16 patriotic compositions.
Organised under the directives of the Ministry of Defence and Air Headquarters, the event is designed to pay tribute to the courage and sacrifice of India’s armed forces while highlighting the Air Force’s discipline and artistic excellence.

Visitors will also find thematic selfie points and informative displays showcasing India’s milestones such as Chandrayaan Mission, Digital India, Atmanirbhar Bharat, the Fit India Movement, and the UDAN Scheme, with special focus on Operation Sindoor as a testament to India’s strategic capabilities.
The Indian Air Force has extended an open invitation to Guwahati residents to attend the celebration and join in honouring the spirit of freedom and unity this Independence Day.
