Dhubri: Assam Police on Monday arrested three operatives Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT) module, and directly linked to Al Qaeda operations in India.
Police officials said in an early morning operation by Dhubri Police, three people were arrested from a hideout in Panbari area.
The Al Qaeda operatives were identified as Md. Safiqul Islam, Md. Mojahidul Mandol and Md. Badshah Seikh.
Assam DGP G P Singh said the three operatives are part of an Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT) module in Dhubri. The ABT is linked to Al Qaeda in Indian Subcontinent (AQIS).

Assam Police on October 17 last year had arrested four Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT) operatives in Tamulpur and Nalbari districts.
Similarly, two more ABT operatives were also arrested from Barpeta district.
In September last year, a madrasa was demolished in Morigaon district over suspected terror links.
Four madrasas more Madrasas were demolished in Assam since August last year over alleged links with terror outfits and attempts to set up ‘jihadi sleeper cells’ in Assam.
