GUWAHATI: The Faculty of Nursing, Assam down town University, organised the 16th Lamp-lighting & Oath-taking ceremony of the of B.Sc. Nursing, GNM & ANM programmes on Thursday.
Prof. N Monika, Associate Dean (Academics), led the 134 students into taking the oath, while Prof. Manashi Sengupta, Dean of the Faculty, presented the annual report, detailing the university’s achievements, endeavours, and future plans.
Chancellor Dr N N Dutta, Dr. NC Talukdar, Vice Chancellor, graced the occasion as guests. Highlighting the value of the collaborative pledge, both Dutta and Talukdar stressed on the event’s significance in one’s professional career.
The event also marked the release of the 2nd edition of the Biennial newsletter, followed by a traditional prize distribution ceremony, recognising students’ achievements in various fields.
The ceremony’s success was attributed to the hard work and dedication of everyone involved, acknowledged Nishamoni Baishya, Assistant Professor at the Faculty. Her vote of appreciation marked the culmination of the event.
By taking the nursing oath, students were officially initiated into the profession, committing to fulfil their responsibilities with compassion, empathy, love, and unwavering devotion – the fundamentals of nursing.
