ITANAGAR: The three-day “North East India Exposure Tour cum Convention-2023”, held in the picturesque town of Tawang, drew its curtains on Tuesday.
Under the banner of “Reinvention of Tourism by Rediscovery of Untapped Potentials in Northeast”, the convention saw luminaries, officials, and representatives from across the eight states congregate to explore the uncharted vistas of the region’s tourism landscape.
On the concluding day, a resplendent cultural evening commemorating India’s 77th Independence Day was presented in collaboration with the Indian Army. Eminent guests including Tsering Tashi, MLA Tawang, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest accompanied by Maj General AK Singh SM as the Guest of Honour, Brig VS Rajput SM, Commander 190 MTN BDE, and Rinchin Leta Incharge DC, Tawang, among others. The evening paid tribute to the rich cultural tapestry of the region, celebrating diversity, unity, and patriotism.
Concluding on an exhilarating note, the event culminated with an immersive exposure tour for participants. The tour led them to iconic landmarks including the Bumla Pass, the serene Sangetsar Lake, the War Memorial, and other notable tourist destinations nestled in and around the breathtaking landscapes of Tawang.
By setting a precedent for regional collaboration, innovation, and the exploration of untapped potentials, the event succeeded in attracting a formidable gathering of 200 attendees from across the Northeastern states.
The convention bore witness to a dynamic amalgamation of minds from various tourism-related associations, including the All Arunachal Pradesh Public Transport Federation, Tour Operators Associations of Meghalaya, Travel Agent’s Association of Sikkim (TAAS), Tripura Tourism Development Forum, and Nagaland Association of Tour Operators. Distinguished hotel proprietors from Tezpur & Guwahati and vibrant cultural groups from Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Sikkim, and Mizoram also graced the event with their presence.
This event, sponsored by the North East Council Shillong and organised by the Humanity Group in collaboration with Tribal Discovery Tour & Travels and Unplanned Events, has etched its mark as a historic first for the region.
