Itanagar: Suspected militants from the NSCN (K-YA) faction launched an attack on the Assam Rifles Company Operating Base (CoB) at Hedman, located along the Indo-Myanmar border in Arunachal Pradesh’s Changlang district, early Thursday morning.
According to reports, two soldiers suffered minor injuries and were promptly evacuated for medical treatment.
An Assam Rifles official said, “A group of militants opened fire on one of our Company Operating Bases. Two soldiers sustained minor injuries and have been evacuated. Our troops promptly retaliated, and a search operation has been launched in the area.”
The injured personnel, identified as Rifleman Harisharan and Rifleman Rahul Bora, were evacuated from Manmao and shifted to the 5 Air Force Hospital in Jorhat around 8:24 AM for advanced medical treatment.
This is the second attack on an Assam Rifles base in Arunachal Pradesh in the past three months. In August, militants had carried out a similar assault on the Company Operating Base (CoB) at Noglo.

The Indo-Myanmar border area in Changlang district is characterized by dense forests and rugged terrain, which insurgent groups frequently use to their advantage for launching attacks and retreating across the international border.
Security forces have cordoned off the area, and a search operation is underway to track down the assailants.
