ITANAGAR: Major General Jarken Gamlin (Retd) has been sworn in as the new Chief Information Commissioner of Arunachal Pradesh.
The oath of office was administered by Governor Lt. Gen. KT Parnaik (Retd) on Monday.
Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu congratulated Gamlin on his new journey.
Taking to his X handle, CM Khandu wrote, “Proud to witness Major General Jarken Gamlin Ji, AVSM, SM, VSM (Retd), take the oath as the State Chief Information Commissioner of Arunachal Pradesh. The oath was administered by Hon’ble Governor, Lt. Gen. KT Parnaik Ji (Retd).”
Khandu further said, “With his distinguished military career and exemplary service, Major General Gamlin brings unparalleled leadership and strategic vision to the role.”
Gamlin, a distinguished retired Army officer, replaces Rinchin Dorjee, whose tenure ended on August 12. He will serve as Chief Information Commissioner for a period of three years or until he attains the age of 65.

Prior to his retirement, Gamlin commanded the ‘51 Sub Area’ in Guwahati, one of the largest logistics nodes in the country, it said.
He was also a member of the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission for a brief period.
