Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Friday expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for highlighting the state’s cultural heritage on the global stage during his official visit to Japan.
In a post on X, CM Pema Khandu wrote, “Prime Minister has once again made us proud by showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Arunachal Pradesh on the global stage.”
During his Japan tour, PM Modi wore the traditional Tukok of the Galo Tribe, reflecting the vibrant identity and craftsmanship of the people of the state.
“On behalf of the people of Arunachal Pradesh, I extend heartfelt gratitude to Hon’ble PM for honoring our traditions and giving them international recognition,” the chief minister said.
Modi arrived in Tokyo on August 29 on a two-day official visit to Japan. The visit comes at the invitation of Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing the India-Japan Economic Forum in Tokyo, batted for India as an investment hub and said that the world was not only watching but also counting on Delhi.

The prime minister said, “India and Japan’s partnership is strategic and smart. Powered by economic logic, we have turned shared interests into shared prosperity. India is the springboard for Japanese business to the Global South. Together, we will shape the Asian century for stability, growth and prosperity.”
PM Modi will also be holding summit talks with his Japanese counterpart Shigeru Ishiba later in the day.
