DIRANG: As the world commemorates World Environment Day on Wednesday, the National Institute of Mountaineering and Adventure Sports (NIMAS) proudly reaffirms its commitment to protecting the environment and practicing sustainability.
In a move to enhance the local green cover and promote biodiversity conservation, NIMAS planted over 500 saplings along the Jyotinagar to NIMAS road and within the institute’s premises in Dirang, Arunachal Pradesh.
This initiative is part of NIMAS’s ongoing commitment to environmental conservation.
Colonel Ranveer Singh Jamwal, Director of NIMAS, expressed his views on the occasion, stating, “As guardians of the wilderness, it is our duty to safeguard the environments in which we explore and thrive. By fostering a culture of environmental responsibility, we can ensure that future generations inherit a planet rich in natural beauty and biodiversity.”
NIMAS continues to implement eco-friendly practices across its programmes and operations.
From minimising carbon footprints during expeditions to advocating for the preservation of endangered habitats, every action taken by NIMAS underscores its dedication to sustainability.
In the face of growing environmental challenges, NIMAS recognises the pivotal role of adventure sports enthusiasts and mountaineers in advocating for the preservation of our planet.
With a deep-rooted passion for nature and adventure, the institute stands at the forefront of promoting eco-consciousness.
This World Environment Day, as communities unite in their efforts to protect and preserve the natural world, NIMAS encourages everyone to embark on a journey towards a brighter and greener tomorrow.
“Together, we can ensure that our actions today lead to a sustainable future for all,” added Director Jamwal.
