TUTING: In commemoration of National Sports Day, the Indian Army’s Spear Corps organized an exhilarating Inter-School Badminton Championship for the 2024-25 academic year on Thursday at Tuting in Arunachal Pradesh’s Upper Siang district.
The event aimed at fostering sportsmanship, teamwork, and physical fitness among the youth of the village.
The championship witnessed enthusiastic participation from students aged 8 to 16 years, representing three prominent schools in Tuting.
Students from three schools – Government Town Secondary School, Government Higher Secondary School, and PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya – competed in the championship.
During the championship, which was conducted on a league basis, the young athletes showcased their remarkable skills and competitive spirit.
After a series of thrilling matches, Government Higher Secondary School emerged victorious, clinching the Badminton Championship title.
The prize distribution ceremony was graced by Army officials and the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of Tuting, who presented trophies, medals, and certificates to the winners.
The championship not only underscored the Indian Army’s dedication to promoting sports and physical activity but also reinforced its commitment to uplifting the communities in border villages.
