ZIRO: Three persons from Kerala were found dead in a hotel room in Arunachal Pradesh’s Ziro town on Tuesday.
The victims have been identified as a married couple, Naveen Thomas (35), and his wife Devi (35), and their friend Arya B Nair (29).
The couple were both Ayurveda doctors from Kottayam district, while Arya was a school teacher from Thiruvananthapuram.
Reportedly, the Lower Subansiri district police have registered three unnatural death cases under Section 174 CrPC.
Shedding light on the initial findings, Superintendent of Police Keni Bagra informed the press that Arya’s wrist bears a deep cut while Devi was found on the floor, with wounds on her neck and right wrist.
It was also informed that a crucial piece of evidence, in the form of a note containing a phone number, has been recovered from the hotel room.
There’s speculation that Naveen might be involved, with some reports suggesting he might have committed suicide after allegedly harming both women.
According to the police, the trio checked into the hotel on March 28. However, their absence was noted on April 1 by the hotel staff.
The next day, efforts to reach the people in the room failed, ultimately resulting in the discovery at 10:30 am on Tuesday.
Presently, the bodies are in morgue of a private hospital in Itanagar.
Amidst the ongoing investigation, emerging reports from local press in Kerala have introduced the element of black magic into the narrative, adding layers of complexity to the case.
SP Bagra, when asked about the black-magic perspective, said that the police are investigating all angles in the case.
