Ziro: The Indian Army’s Spear Corps organized a comprehensive civic action programme in Ziro, Arunachal Pradesh, as part of its ongoing outreach initiative, Operation Sadbhavna. The effort reinforced the Army’s commitment to community development and its continued role in fostering goodwill among the people of the Northeast.
The event was marked by the presence of several dignitaries, including Agriculture Minister Tage Taki, Lower Subansiri Deputy Commissioner Vivek (IAS), and Apatani Tribe District Chairperson Dola Pura, underscoring the significance of the initiative for the local community.
Embracing the motto “We Serve Beyond Borders,” the outreach focused on addressing immediate grassroots needs while strengthening the enduring bond between the armed forces and civilians.
Among the key components of the programme was the distribution of stationery kits to students of Ziro Valley Primary School, a gesture aimed at supporting education and encouraging young learners to pursue their aspirations.
In an effort to improve sanitation infrastructure, three mobile toilet units were also installed in the area, providing essential hygiene facilities in this remote region.
Further promoting health and wellness, the Army gifted open-air gym equipment to Ziro Town, encouraging a culture of physical fitness and community well-being.
The initiative received widespread appreciation from local residents, who welcomed the Army’s efforts with gratitude.
The engagement served as a reminder of the Indian Army’s multifaceted role—not just as defenders of the nation’s borders, but also as active participants in its social and developmental fabric.
