Itanagar: In a remarkable effort to empower youth in border regions, the Indian Army’s Blazing Sword Division under Gajraj Corps has guided 32 students from Arunachal Pradesh to secure admission at Woods Park Sainik School in Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh.
The students, hailing from Dirang and Jang in West Kameng and Tawang districts, were groomed under the Army’s mentorship, which focused on discipline, determination, and leadership values.
This initiative, officials said, aims to prepare children for academic success while instilling qualities essential for serving the nation.
“This achievement reflects how structured guidance can transform young lives in remote areas,” Guwahati-based defence spokesperson Lt Col Mahendra Rawat said in a statement on Monday, adding that the accomplishment has brought immense pride to their families.

Army officials highlighted that the programme goes beyond education, emphasising character-building and confidence to shape students into responsible citizens and future leaders.
By mentoring children from geographically challenging regions, the Army is creating opportunities for quality education and bridging developmental gaps.
For Arunachal Pradesh, this effort carries special significance as it aligns the aspirations of youth from border areas with the broader vision of nation-building, the spokesperson noted.
