In a bid to boost civil-military ties and promote community development, the Indian Army’s Dao Division inaugurated the first-ever Mayudia Café at the picturesque Mayudia Pass on Sunday.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by General Officer Commanding Dao Division, Deputy Commissioner of Lower Dibang Valley Fwwrman Brahma, local residents, and troops of the Spear Corps.
Situated along the strategic and scenic route of Mayudia Pass, the new café addresses a long-standing need for a rest stop in the region, which previously lacked basic amenities for travellers.
Officials said the facility will not only serve as a refreshment point but also provide a platform to promote local culture and entrepreneurship.

The GOC Dao Division described the café as “a symbol of hope and friendship,” adding that the initiative reflects the Army’s commitment to the welfare of remote communities.
Deputy Commissioner Brahma lauded the effort, calling it an important step toward sustainable development and stronger civilian-military cooperation.
Locals and tourists hailed the move as a welcome addition to the region’s tourism infrastructure, with the café expected to become a key stopover for travellers visiting the Himalayan landscape.
