TAWANG: In a heartfelt tribute to the valour and sacrifices of Indian soldiers, ex-servicemen and Veer Naris participated in a special rally at the Tawang military station on Sunday.
Dedicated to the courageous soldiers who defended Tawang during the 1962 India-China war, the event drew over 150 veterans, Veer Naris, and families of veterans from across the area.
The rally commenced with a solemn wreath-laying ceremony at the Tawang War Memorial.
Following this, the veterans and their families were provided with an array of welfare schemes, medical and dental treatment, and financial advice.
Various facilities and services, including Suvidha Kendras and stalls set up by banks for pension account holders, an Aadhaar Biometric Updation Centre, Veterans Suvidha Kendra Tawang, Field Hospital Tawang, the ECHS Polyclinic, Agriculture Assistance, NCC Guidance Centre, and an Army Awareness & Motivation Centre were offered.
The Tawang Brigade and Station Headquarters collaborated with Record Offices of various Regiments to assist veterans with any pension-related issues.
The gathering also had the opportunity to reconnect with the soldiers in Tawang and express their heartfelt gratitude and love.
Expressing their deep appreciation to the Indian Army, the veterans seized the opportunity to share their gratitude and experiences.
The event concluded with the felicitation of guests by the Station Commander & Officiating DC Tawang, recognising the invaluable services rendered by them.
The rally served as a moving reminder of the sacrifices made by these brave men and women, leaving behind a legacy of courage and dedication for many to follow.
