New Delhi: As the Opposition gearing up to make hullabaloo over the clash with Chinese PLA troops along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) near Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will address both the houses on Tuesday.
Rajnath Singh will address the Lok Sabha at 12 noon, and will also speak at Rajya Sabha at 12.30 pm.
Ahead of the two parliament addresses, Rajnath Singh held a high-level discussion with senior Army officials.
The Defence minister sought reports from the Ministry of External Affairs and had a brief discussion with Prime Minister and few other cabinet colleagues to finetune Centre’s statement on the issue in Parliament.
According to reports, on December 9, about 600 PLA soldiers tried to intrude into the Indian territory, close to Tawang.
The intrusion bid led to scuffle between the PLA and Indian Army personnel, resulting in minor injuries to a few personnel from both sides.
But, the opposition bench is all out to lap the issue in a big way during the Winter Session of the Parliament.
Leader of Opposition and AICC president Mallikarjuna Kharge moved an adjournment motion in Rajya Sabha on Tuesday morning, seeking a debate on the border clash.
Congress MP from Assam, Pradyut Bordoloi on Tuesday also moved an adjournment motion in the Lok Sabha, and sought for time for a detailed debate on the issue.
The Trinamool Congress, too, has submitted a notice in Rajya Sabha, seeking a discussion on the issue.
