Guwahati: The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) on Monday gave its nod to two hydropower projects in Arunachal Pradesh, with a combined investment of Rs 3,689 crore.
Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced that the CCEA approved Rs 1,750 crore for the 186 MW Tato-I Hydro Electric Project and Rs 1,939 crore for the 240 MW Heo Hydro Electric Project, both located in Shi Yomi District.
The minister highlighted that the power generated from these projects will bolster Arunachal Pradesh’s electricity supply and contribute to the national grid’s stability.

The projects will be undertaken by joint venture companies formed between North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Limited (NEEPCO) and the Arunachal Pradesh government.
For the Tato-I project, the central government will provide Rs 77.37 crore for infrastructure development, including roads, bridges, and transmission lines, and an additional Rs 120.43 crore as equity support to the state.
Similarly, for the Heo project, the central government will allocate Rs 127.28 crore for infrastructure development and Rs 130.43 crore as equity support to the state.
