New Delhi: The BJP on Saturday named Kiren Rijiju and Tapir Gao as the party’s candidates for the two Lok Sabha seats in Arunachal Pradesh.
While Minister of Earth Sciences Kiren Rijiju will be contesting from the Arunachal West seat, Tapir Gao will be contesting from the Arunachal East seat.
The names of the two BJP candidates for Aruanchal Pradesh were declared on Saturday as part of the first list of candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Arunachal Pradesh Chief Miniser Pema Khandu congratulated both the BJP leaders from the state. “Heartiest congratulations to Hon Union Min Shri @KirenRijiju Ji & Hon MP Shri @TapirGao Ji, on being given the @BJP4India tickets for upcoming Lok Sabha elections from Arunachal West and Arunachal East constituencies, respectively.” Backed by love and support of the people, Rijiju and Gao are poised to emerge victorious, Khandu wrote on X.
“Their dedication and commitment have contributed to the transformation of our State, aligning with the mission of making #ViksitBharat by 2047,” Khandu said.

A total of 195 candidates, including 11 from Assam, were announced on Saturday by the BJP as part of the first list.
