Itanagar: The Tomo Riba Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (TRIHMS) at Naharlagun and the North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology (NERIST) in Nirjuli have entered into a partnership to advance medical technology, research, and innovation in Arunachal Pradesh.
The memorandum of understanding (MoU), signed on Friday at TRIHMS by director Dr. Moji Jini and NERIST registrar Dr. M. K. Camder, sets the stage for collaboration in academics, joint research, innovation, training, and student-faculty exchange.
Officials said the initiative seeks to merge the strengths of medical sciences with engineering and technology to tackle pressing healthcare issues in the region.

The event was attended by NERIST director Prof. Narendranath S, along with senior faculty and deans from both institutions.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Jini described the agreement as a “landmark beginning” for Arunachal’s first medical and technology institutes to work together on solutions that can directly benefit patients and the wider community.
Prof. Narendranath, while welcoming the partnership, stressed that the collaboration should translate into tangible outcomes, urging both institutes to accelerate research and innovation that will enhance healthcare delivery not only in Arunachal but across the Northeast.
