ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh has emerged as a beacon of economic growth, with the state’s Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) skyrocketing from Rs.22,100.00 crore to a whopping Rs.48,028.00 crore over the past seven years, marking a remarkable surge of 117%.
This promising economic trajectory was unveiled by Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein during the Chindang Festival held at Chindang Festival Hall in Nafra, West Kameng recently.
The Deputy Chief Minister, who graced the festival as its Chief Guest, highlighted the substantial expansion of the state’s economic indicators during his address. “The surge in GSDP is a testament to the state’s dedication to progress and development, reflecting a significant increase of Rs.25,928.00 crore,” he said.
In addition to GSDP growth, the Deputy Chief Minister also shed light on the impressive surge in the State’s Own Resource (SOR) from Rs.1253.61 crore to Rs.3,412.81 crore, showcasing a substantial increase of Rs.2,159.20 crore or 172%.
Additionally, Arunachal Pradesh’s annual budget witnessed a commendable growth, rising by 156% from Rs.11,535.65 crore to Rs.29,512.82 crore, he informed. “This financial progress enables the state to allocate more resources to an array of developmental initiatives,” added Mein during his speech at the festival.
Deputy CM Mein also highlighted the significance of development in border areas. Various initiatives, including Frontier Highways, Vibrant Village Program, Golden Jubilee Border Illumination Programme, and the transformation of border villages into model villages, reflect the state’s commitment to enhancing border security and development, he stressed.
The Chindang Festival, held at Chindang Festival Hall, resonated with unity, cultural grandeur, and an air of optimism for the state’s future.
Union Minister of Earth Sciences, Kiren Rijiju, graced the event as the Chief Patron of the Festival Committee. The Sajolang community’s spirited cultural performances further amplified the festival’s ambiance.
