Itanagar: The 64th Edition of the Under-17 State Level Subroto Mukherjee Football Tournament 2025 kicked off in Arunachal Pradesh’s Keyi Panyor District on Thursday (April 10).
The event is being hosted by the Keyi Panyor district for the first time. The tournament aims to promote grassroots football and nurture young talent.
The opening ceremony was graced by Topin Ete, MLA of Aalo West, as the chief guest. The event was also attended by Marken Kadu, Director of Secondary Education, DDSE, senior officials from the Directorate of Sports, PRI leaders, and district Heads of Departments.
Young athletes displayed remarkable skill and determination in the spirited inaugural match between Keyi Panyor and Papumpare District, marking the start of the tournament.

Acknowledging the support of the Arunachal Pradesh government, Keyi Panyor MLA stated, “It’s a privilege for our district to serve as host for this prestigious tournament, an opportunity that underscores the confidence and recognition extended by the state administration.”

He highlighted the tournament’s role in fostering unity and promoting sportsmanship across the state.
Tatung stated that the tournament, featuring young footballers from all 27 districts, is a true celebration of youth talent and sportsmanship across Arunachal Pradesh.
