Itanagar: Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Tuesday announced that Arunachal Pradesh has experienced remarkable economic progress over the past ten years, with the Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) rising by an impressive 166% from 2014 to 2024–25.
Taking to social media platform X, Khandu credited the sustained growth to reform-driven governance and consistent focus on development.
He described the period as a “decade of transformative growth,” shaped by prudent fiscal management and infrastructure-led policies under the “Pema 3.0” model.
According to official data shared by the chief minister, the number of Goods and Services Tax (GST) taxpayers in the state has grown by 141% since 2017–18, while per capita income has seen a 105% rise since 2016.
The state’s own tax revenues have also expanded significantly, with GST collections up by a staggering 731% since the tax system’s rollout in 2017.
Meanwhile, State’s Own Resources (SOR) — which reflect internal revenue generation — have grown by 384% over the past decade.

Budgetary support for the state has also kept pace with this economic momentum, witnessing a 218% jump in allocations between 2015–16 and 2025–26, with an emphasis on capital expenditure and inclusive development.
Khandu stated that the economic indicators highlight Arunachal’s forward momentum and reflect the effectiveness of governance reforms introduced over recent years.
