Itanagar/Bangkok: In a strategic effort to expand its presence in global food markets, Arunachal Pradesh is making a strong pitch for its unique agro and processed food products at Thaifex Anuga Asia 2025, one of Southeast Asia’s leading food and beverage trade fairs, held in Bangkok.

According to an official release from the state’s Department of Trade and Commerce, a high-powered delegation led by Trade and Commerce Minister Nyato Dukam is attending the international expo with the aim of promoting trade, attracting investments, and forging technology collaborations.

The delegation’s visit is supported by the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC).

The team includes MLA Dr. Mohesh Chai, Trade and Commerce Commissioner Saugat Biswas, and other senior government officials.

Their participation is focused on unlocking opportunities for Arunachal’s signature agri-products—such as kiwi, mandarin oranges, large cardamom, and fruit-based wines—in ASEAN markets.

During the visit, the Indian Ambassador to Thailand, Nagesh Singh, welcomed the delegation and urged them to explore trade linkages with Thai importers, as well as to visit local food processing facilities for potential technology exchange.

The Arunachal pavilion at Thaifex was formally inaugurated by Minister Dukam and drew significant interest from international buyers. The display featured the state’s niche organic produce and value-added products, offering a glimpse into the rich agro-diversity of the region.

“This event is a crucial platform for Arunachal Pradesh to position itself as a competitive player in the global food processing industry, particularly within the ASEAN trade bloc,” said Dr. Rajeev Singh, Director General of the ICC.

Representing the state’s growing food entrepreneurship ecosystem, notable Indian brands such as Norphel Wines, Green Gold Integrated Farm, Neuli Enterprise, and Cakes and Bakes showcased their products at the expo, underlining Arunachal’s evolving role in India’s agri-export landscape.

The participation marks a significant step toward elevating Arunachal Pradesh’s agri-horticultural potential on the international stage, while also encouraging cross-border collaborations in food innovation, sustainability, and market access.
