Khandu added, “A historic milestone as she carries the hopes of our State onto the world stage. May her journey continue to inspire many to dream big and break barriers.”

The prestigious 12th edition of the World Para Athletics Championships is set to take place at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi from September 26 to October 5.

In March this year, Mero won a gold medal in the javelin throw in the Khelo India Para Games 2025 in New Delhi.

She clinched the gold medal in the Women’s F-13 Javelin event with an impressive throw of 22.46m.

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on June 20 unveiled the logo and mascot of the event.
