Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh’s Kamdon Boi clinched a bronze medal in Judo at the 38th National Games 2025 in Uttarakhand on Monday.
Taking to the microblogging site X, Chief Minister Pema Khandu congratulated the champion for his outstanding performance.
CM Khandu said, “Congratulations to Kamdon Boi for his outstanding performance and a well-deserved bronze medal in Judo at the 38th National Games 2025. Your skill & determination are extraordinary. Keep striving for excellence!”

With this victory, Arunachal Pradesh’s medal tally at the National Games now stands at 13 (4 gold, 3 silver, and 6 bronze).
Meanwhile, Arunachal Pradesh’s Namsai has joined the global marathon map as the town hosted the ‘Golden Pagoda Marathon 2025’.
Two athletes –James Kipleting Korir from Kenya and Fulasa Chaltu Gonfa from Ethiopia – clinched top spots in the event.
Taking to his official X handle, the Arunachal chief minister stated, “Namsai is now on global marathon map! Congratulations to James Kipleting Korir (Kenya) & Fulasa Chaltu Gonfa (Ethiopia) on clinching the top spots in the men’s & women’s categories in Golden Pagoda Marathon 2025.”
The Golden Pagoda Marathon also saw stellar performances from several Indian athletes, who earned praise for their dedication and skill.
The chief minister said, “Such programs go beyond sport, they promote cultural exchange, tourism & fitness spirit.”

The first-ever Golden Pagoda Marathon, held on February 9, was a resounding success. Over 1,800 runners from India and other countries participated in the event, which took place against the beautiful backdrop of the Golden Pagoda in Namsai.
The marathon promoted fitness and endurance and was also notable for being the first zero-waste marathon in Northeast India.
