Itanagar: Following the successful hosting of the SAFF U-19 Championship last year, Arunachal Pradesh is all set to host another international football event later this month.
The state will host the U-23 Tri-Nation Championship 2026, an international friendly tournament featuring the U-23 national teams of India, Bhutan and Tajikistan.
The tournament is scheduled to be held from March 25 to March 31 at the Golden Jubilee Outdoor Stadium in Yupia.
“Let’s come together and celebrate the spirit of football and cheer for the teams as Arunachal once again hosts international action,” Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu said in a post on X.

The upcoming event is expected to draw football fans from across the region, as the state once again will be hosting an exciting international football event. Organisers have also announced that tickets for the matches will be available through the Slot Allot app.
Arunachal Pradesh Football Association secretary general Kipa Ajay said this will be the state’s first FIFA-level football event.
Meanwhile, a coordination meeting chaired by Assistant Commissioner Bengia Yakar was held at the DC’s conference hall in Yupia recently to discuss the event.
Ajay sought cooperation and support from all departments and stakeholders for a successful event.
