Itanagar: As part of the 63rd Walong Day Commemoration, the third edition of the Dao Cycling Expedition will be held from October 23 to 27 in Arunachal Pradesh.
The cycling expedition, covering the route from Namsai to Namti, will be organized by the Indian Army’s 2 Mountain Division in partnership with the Arunachal Pradesh government.
Taking to X, Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister wrote, “Glad to receive an invitation from Brig. Kaustubh Khobre, SM, Commandant, 181 Mountain Brigade for the 3rd Edition of the Dao Cycling Expedition from Namsai to Namti, being organised by the Indian Army’s 2 Mountain Division in collaboration with the Government of Arunachal Pradesh.”
He added, “The expedition is being conducted from 23rd to 27th October 2025 as part of the 63rd Walong Day Commemoration, paying tribute to the immortal courage and sacrifices of our soldiers and local populace during the Battle of Walong (1962).”
The event is aimed at promoting fitness, camaraderie, tourism, and remembrance, showcasing the natural beauty and resilience of Arunachal Pradesh while honouring our fallen heroes.

The previous editions of the cycling expedition were held to promote sports and adventure in remote areas of the northeastern state and motivate local youth to join the Indian Army.
