Itanagar: The Arunachal Pradesh government has instructed deputy commissioners (DCs) and superintendents of police (SPs) to remain stationed in their respective district headquarters throughout the monsoon season to ensure swift response to emergencies.
During a review meeting on monsoon preparedness, Chief Secretary Manish Gupta emphasized the need for readiness across all sectors.
He directed district officials to ensure adequate stockpiling of essential supplies and medicines, especially in remote areas, to prevent shortages during potential weather-related disruptions.
“All departments must prioritise the restoration of critical services in the aftermath of natural disasters,” Gupta stated.
He also underlined the importance of robust communication networks, instructing the telecom deputy director general to maintain uninterrupted mobile connectivity and ensure power supply to key facilities during the rainy season.

Director General of Police Anand Mohan was tasked with reviewing the operational status of wireless telecommunication stations to bolster emergency response capabilities.
Additionally, Gupta directed all districts to maintain functional helipads, ready for emergency rescue and relief operations.
The proactive measures reflect the state’s commitment to mitigating the impacts of monsoon-related challenges and ensuring the safety and well-being of its residents.
