Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh’s powerlifter Kago Harie has clinched a Gold medal at the prestigious World Cup Powerlifting Championship 2025 held in Moscow, Russia.
Competing in the junior men’s 83 kg category, he won the medal in full powerlifting on Sunday (June 29), the Arunachal Powerlifting Association (APA) said.
Harie, who hails from Ziro in Arunachal Pradesh’s Lower Subansiri district, represented India in the championship.
“Heartiest congratulations to Kago Harie from Ziro, Arunachal Pradesh, for clinching the Gold at the #WorldCupPowerlifting Championship in Moscow! Representing India in the junior men’s 83 kg category, he showcased remarkable strength and lifted the national flag high with honour and grit,” CM Pema Khandu posted on X.
Khandu added, “Wishing him continued success and glory in the journey ahead. Your dedication and triumph make the entire nation proud!”
