Tirap: Arunachal Pradesh Women & Child Development and Cultural Affairs Minister, Dasanglu Pul, inaugurated the Arunachal Indigenous & Heritage Centre and an office of the Nocte Women Association (NWA) in Tirap district on Friday.
Addressing the inauguration ceremony, the minister emphasised the need to strengthen women’s voices and safeguard the state’s tradition and culture.
Pul lauded the Nocte Women Association for its efforts in advocating women’s welfare and fostering social progress.
She congratulated the Nocte women on realizing their long-held dream of establishing the association’s office.
The Nocte Women Association is one of the oldest registered NGOs dedicated to the welfare of Nocte women.
Pul further said that the Arunachal Indigenous & Heritage Centre would facilitate research, documentation and awareness programmes to sustain indigenous practices and heritage.
She expressed optimism that the newly inaugurated centres would serve as platforms for cultural preservation and community-driven initiatives aimed at holistic growth in the region.
The event was also attended by Khonsa West MLA Chakat Aboh, Basar MLA Nyabi Jini Dirchi, Khonsa East legislator Wanglam Sawin, and chairperson of the Nocte Women Association Chasuam Wangchadong.
Legislator Wanglam Sawin said that the Indigenous Heritage Centre was sanctioned in early 2015 during the tenure of former CM late Kalikho Pul.

He congratulated the Nocte women and called on all community members to prioritize unity and love over clan or community divisions, highlighting the importance of strengthening Tirap’s social fabric.
