Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Hillang Yajik has bagged gold at the 57th Asian Bodybuilding & Physique Sports Championship 2025 in Bangkok.
Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu congratulated Yajik on her remarkable feat.
“Her exceptional performance in the Women’s Model Physique (Up to 160 cm) category has brought immense pride to our state and to India,” CM Khadu posted on X.
He added, “May this glorious achievement be the first of many more shining moments in her journey ahead. Wishing her continued success and strength!”
Yajik also clinched a gold medal at the 15th South Asian Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championships 2025 held in Thimphu in June.
She secured a gold medal in the Women’s Model Physique (up to 155 cm) category.
She also claimed a Silver Medal in a complementary category. Yajik’s outstanding performance made her the first woman athlete from the state to win gold in physique sports at an international tournament.
Yajik’s victory is a landmark moment, showcasing the growing presence of Indian women in the field of bodybuilding and physique sports.
