Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh government has signed an agreement with the National Highway Logistics Management Limited (NHLML) for infrastructure development in the Eastern Himalayan state.
The NHLML, which is a SPV of the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI), will help the Arunachal Pradesh government in designing a detailed plan for infrastructure development, especially ropeways.
The agreement was signed by Parul Gaur Mittal, special secretary of Arunachal Pradesh Transport department and NHLML CEO Prakash Gaur in the presence of Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari and chief minister Pema Khandu on Friday in Guwahati.
Arunachal Pradesh proposes to construct several ropeways projects under the National Ropeway Programme – the Parvatmala project.
The proposed ropeways will help in connecting inaccessible areas in Arunachal Pradesh and will also boost tourism in states.
The agreement is expected to bring effective implementation, development, construction, operation and maintenance of the identified projects. It would also lead to connect far-flung and serene places of Arunachal Pradesh to the mainstream.
