Itanagar: The Arunachal Pradesh education department has reminded all district officials to ensure that teachers transferred under the state’s recent reshuffle assume charge at their new postings without delay.
Education Commissioner Amjad Tak on Saturday instructed district officers to submit reports by Monday, listing the names of transferred teachers, their previous and current postings, and the dates of their relief and joining.
He also warned that disciplinary action under service rules would follow against officers failing to enforce the directive.
The state government had ordered the transfer and posting of 203 teachers on July 20 as part of efforts to streamline and strengthen the education workforce.

However, implementation has faced resistance, with several teachers reluctant to move, citing medical grounds or spousal postings.
The issue recently sparked protests in West Kameng district, where a students’ union called a bandh to demand enforcement of the transfers.
The strike was withdrawn after local legislators assured that the matter would be taken up with higher authorities.
