Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Tuesday launched a “pilot project for online water bill payment system” in the Itanagar Capital Region, bringing convenience and transparency right to people’s fingertips.
The initiative is aimed at enhancing citizen convenience and streamlining public service delivery.
“For the people in Itanagar Capital Region, paying a water bill no longer means taking half a day off work or standing in a long queue. Now it’s just a few taps on a phone, a few clicks on a screen,” CM Khandu said in a post on X.
The online water revenue payment is a step that brings essential public services closer to the people, he said.
The pilot project is being implemented under the Public Health Engineering & Water Supply Department.
The event was also attended by Minister for Home, PHE&WS Mama Natung ji and Advisor to the PHE&WS Minister Pani Taram ji.
“But this isn’t just about Itanagar. It’s part of a larger vision to bring digital systems for water connections, billing, and grievance redressal to every District Headquarters in Arunachal Pradesh,” Khandu added.
