Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu has launched Kiwi Mission 2025-2035, an ambitious 10-year program. The mission aims to make the frontier state synonymous with kiwi cultivation.
The programme was launched at Ziro in Lower Subansiri District on Sunday by the chief minister, in the presence of the Agriculture Minister, Gabriel D. Wangsu, and other cabinet colleagues and MLAs.
Speaking at the programme, Khandu described the initiative as a bold step to empower farmers, embrace sustainable practices and position the state as a hub of high-quality organic produce.
“Arunachal Pradesh is underway with a bold vision, to make our land synonymous with Kiwi, just as Tea is to Assam,” CM Khandu said.
Under the programme, Model Kiwi Orchards will be established across 13 districts, with the vibrant Ziro Valley standing at the heart of this farming revolution.
The chief minister also had the opportunity to listen to kiwi growers from 13 districts of the state during the launch of the Arunachal Pradesh Kiwi Mission 2025–2035.
“Their insights and experiences are driving our efforts to promote sustainable farming, innovation, and farmer welfare in Arunachal,” Khandu stated.
As part of the Harvest of the Month initiative, the state government honoured outstanding farmers who are setting new benchmarks in progressive and sustainable agriculture across Arunachal.
